About FoodShare

Our Mission

At FoodShare, we're on a mission to reduce food waste and build stronger communities through the power of sharing. We believe that by connecting those with excess food to those in need, we can create a more sustainable and equitable food system for all.

Our platform facilitates the sharing of restaurant leftovers, surplus produce, and homemade meals, ensuring that good food finds its way to grateful recipients rather than landfills.

Our Impact

  • Over 100,000 meals shared
  • 500 tons of food waste diverted from landfills
  • 10,000+ active users on the platform
  • Partnerships with 50+ local restaurants and grocery stores
  • 20% reduction in food insecurity in participating communities

Our Story

FoodShare was founded in 2022 by a group of friends who were shocked by the amount of food waste they saw in their community. What started as a small, local initiative quickly grew into a comprehensive platform connecting food donors with recipients across the city.

Today, FoodShare operates in 10 cities across the country, with plans to expand further. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to improve our platform, build partnerships, and spread awareness about food waste and its impact on our environment and communities.

Our Values

  • Community-first approach
  • Environmental stewardship
  • Equality and inclusivity
  • Innovation and adaptability
  • Transparency and accountability

How It Works

Our user-friendly app connects food donors with nearby recipients. Donors post available food, and recipients can claim and pick up the items they need.
